MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO ISTANBUL
Spring 1952
Passengers are boarding the Paris Istanbul express. This luxury train will stop in Lyon, Valence, Marseille and Budapest before reaching Istanbul after a three-day journey.
On May 13th at 9:24am the train leaves Lyon station and rattles down the track at 150 km/h.
In first class everybody is enjoying the comforts of the sleeping carriages, the restaurants and the promenade carriage.
On the third day at 8:00am the express arrives in the suburbs of Istanbul. In carriage number 2 the steward knocks on the door of a cabin. The occupant has not been seen for a while and his neighbour is complaining about a dreadful smell. No answer. The locked door is forced. A man aged around 40 is found dead on the bed.

By car
We recommend coming to the CPO by public transport as parking can be difficult. The nearest public car park is at the Hotel Savoy, just opposite the CPO, or Ouchy (Park & Ride) & then a 10mn walk or 2 stops on the Métro. Street parking in blue zones is possible but not always available.
By public transport
Metro Délices is a 2mn walk.
Lausanne station is 5-10mn walk
